ON THE ROAD TO AUTONOMY/ EN ROUTE VERS L’AUTONOMIE

To develop one’s autonomy, reach one’s full potential, and build one’s life project!

A transitional process from school to active life. Taking charge of one’s physical and mental health; developing one’s autonomy, life skills, employ-ability; developing one’s life project. We plan meetings with professionals and specialists who share their experience and know-how.

We touch on all aspects of autonomy : getting around; personal hygiene and presentation; healthy and balanced life habits; nutrition and physical activity; personal finances; judicialization and legal proceedings; work, career, job market; safety and cyber security; interpersonal relations; citizenship; daily, weekly, and yearly life structure;

À LA RENCONTRE DE MA SOCIÉTÉ

Conferences and visits tailored to the needs of participants

Conferences, meetings, visits and ad hoc specialized workshops adapted to the needs of the young autistic adults and related to themes seen in other programs, such as “Knowing how to react in emergency situations“ and “Safety and cyber-security’’, given by the SPVM; “Sleeping better for living better“ given by Dr. Roger Godbout, a psychologist specialized in sleep disorders and autism;
“Personal finances, budget, pay cheque, income tax return“ given by Robarta Franske, accountant;
“The job interview: what the employer wants to know and see.“

To meet inspiring people, business leaders, professionals, motivators; to create opportunities; to enhance learnings and gain better understanding of how a community functions. At the same time, we raise public awareness on the challenges faced by autistic people to maneuver in the social environment.
